During automatic sorting of industrial parts, Eddy currents are used by observing the deformation of a magnetic field created by a coil when a part to be controlled is in close proximity.

Technology using Eddy currents can distinguish:

• Internal type defects within the material,
• Different mixtures of materials,
• Inclusion,
• Presence of heat treatment,

Thanks to localized probes, it can also detect surface defects on the part such as cracks or fissures.
